Celebrate National Croissant Day with a Hot Cup of Tea
January 30th is National Croissant Day but do you know why this tasty treat is celebrated? According to Punchbowl.com, in 1683 the Turkish Empire laid siege on Vienna, Austria. The Turks made several attempts to enter the city by force, but were unsuccessful, so they decided to to dig an underground tunnel. The bakers of Vienna, who worked in the basement storerooms, heard the sound of digging and alerted the army. To make this story short, in celebration the Turks baked their bread in the shape of a crescent moon- the symbol of the Ottoman Empire.
I usually pair my croissants with a hot cup of coffee but in honor of “National Tea Month” its only right that I take out my kettle and enjoy the refreshing flavors from the tea’s that I’ve been enjoying this month.
My friends at Tetley Tea sent me a big box of their “Black and Green” tea line that has both Black and Green tea in one tea bag. I’ve been enjoying this tea every morning not only for the smooth taste but the benefits of drinking these tea’s are amazing. Some benefits of black and green tea include:
