Miami Buzz | Serena Williams Debuts The First Annual Ultimate RUN

The newly crowned 18-time grand slam winner and beautiful tennis superstar Serena Williams will join thousands of avid running enthusiasts from South Florida and around the country for the first annual Serena Williams Ultimate RUN South Beach, on Sunday, December 14, 2014.

In support of Serena Williams Fund which provides assistance to families affected by violent crimes and providing underprivileged youth around the world, the Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles) 5K Run/Walk and Ultimate KIDS Dash will bring together runners of all ages.

We asked Serena why she chose Miami to debut the Ultimate RUN and she said “Miami is very close to my heart- I’ve lived and trained here throughout my career- and it’s such an electric and diverse city.”

On Sunday, December 14th, Ocean Drive will be CLOSED to traffic for the Ultimate RUN’s start and finish lines. The course will take runners through Miami’s renowned South Beach scene. Joining Serena will be number of high profile athletes and celebrities. This event is open to all ages, registrants of the Ultimate RUN will receive a premium, Nike tech, gender-specific Ultimate RUN shirt and custom artisan Ultimate RUN finisher medal and so much more.
