AUCTION ALERT: Wannado City contents for sale 1/11/2011
The contents of the 140,000-square-feet children’s theme park that closed Jan. 2 will be sold at auction Tuesday to the highest bidders.
Sunrise-based Wannado City closed permanently last week after citing poor financial performance in its six years in operations.
The role-playing theme, which cost $40 million to build is located at Anchor D at Sawgrass Mills shopping, dining and entertainment complex.
Among the items up for grabs Tuesday is a fire truck, an operating circus with big top, a Spirit Airlines DC-9 fuselage and an ambulance, according to Hollywood-based Stampler Auctions.
Equipment from four restaurants will also be sold during the live auction at 12801 W. Sunrise Blvd., starting at 10 a.m.
Stampler Auctions will conduct the auction on behalf of Wannado City. Online bidding is available with pre-registration and pre-approval, according to the company.
Interested persons can preview items on-site Monday through 4 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
