FREE IPHONES , 12/10/10
Best Buy will offer a free iPhone 3GS (8GB-version only) via an instant rebate on Friday, Dec. 10. It is expected to be a one-day event. To qualify, you must be eligible to sign up for a new two-year contract or to upgrade from an earlier iPhone or an existing customer adding a new cell phone line.
The iPhone 3GS 8GB regularly costs $99 at Best Buy with a two-year contract. Why the price cut on the iPhone? Likely because AT&T wants to get as many users on iPhone before Verizon Wireless begins selling iPhones next year.
Best Buy has been offering free smart phones with a new service contract every Friday since October hoping to attract more customers during the holidays.
Do you want this deal? Not if you want the most cutting-edge smart phone. In that case, check out the iPhone 4, Google Nexus S or any number of new-model Android and Blackberry phones. But buying a last-generation smart phone at this price could be a good bargain for a first-time smart phone owner at any age. The iPhone 3GS is easy for just about anyone to use, whether making a call, checking e-mail, watching a video or surfing the Web.
